By Pat Hartman, Maggie Canty, Lindsay Nichols & Molly McCowan
His real name is Lawrence Parker, but he has been known as The Teacha, Blastmaster, and, most famously, KRS-One. Most hip-hop fans already know that KRS-One is one of the most influential and intriguing hip-hop artists to hit the mainstream. He is best known for launching the Temple of Hip-Hop, which promotes the genre as a legitimate art form. He also formed the Stop the Violence movement, and he strives to promote peaceful living (he has also been a vegetarian since he was a teenager). Above all, however, KRS-One is a talented craftsman who strives to positively affect the society we live in, making this a show not to be missed.
KRS-One, Sunday, July 11, Aggie Theatre, Fort Collins, $18
