Cara consists of Gudrun Walther, vocalist and fiddler, and Jurgen Treyz, guitarist and arranger, whose musical collaboration has been ongoing for many years. They first toured the US in 2007, and have been back several times since. Things really got interesting when these two hooked up with a couple of Scottish musicians, Claire Mann and Aaron Jones, at a festival in England, and went on to create a style that incorporates traditions from all over Europe and the UK, and even Scandinavia. Their album came about from a process of “cyber-rehearsal,” swapping MP3 files back and forth via the Internet.
